What is Microblading and where to find the best artist in Sydney?

Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading differs from standard eyebrow tattooing because each hairstroke is created by hand using a blade which creates fine slices in the skin, whereas eyebrow tattoos are done with a machine and single needle. Microblading is typically used on eyebrows to create, enhance or reshape their appearance in terms of both shape and colour. It deposits pigment into upper region of the dermis, so it fades more rapidly than traditional tattooing techniques, which deposit pigment deeper. Microblading artists are not necessarily tattoo artists, and vice versa, because the techniques require different training. Microblading is also sometimes called embroidery, feather touch or hair-like strokes.

Aside from replacing thinning brows or substituting for mascara, microblading is also used by cancer patients and alopecia sufferers who want an appearance that doesn’t attract attention

Microblading is detailed process that involves several steps. Here’s a summary of how things generally go:

  • You can come to your appointment with your eyebrows pencilled the way you like them. Bring your coloured pencil of choice.
If you get your eyebrows waxed or tinted, please have this done at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled procedure.
It is recommended to wait at least 10 days to have them waxed & 30 days for tinting after the procedure.

Do NOT take Aspirin, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure. Tylenol is fine.
